Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Staff Fasteners Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the reliability of their Electric Adventure Vehicles.

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or other relevant field
7+ years of experience as a fasteners, mechanical or materials engineer in a manufacturing environment
Experience with CAD/PLM software and methods such as CATIA/ENOVIA
Expertise with industry standards and authoring fastener specs/standards
Ability to specify and execute industry standard fastener and joint mechanical tests
Familiarity with automotive structures and materials
Working knowledge of automotive materials and their influence on joint design

Collaborate with teams across Rivian programs to assess joint design and improve quality of mechanical assemblies
Perform detailed problem-solving and failure analysis for issues with parts
Work closely with Purchasing and Supplier Quality to ensure technical performance of fastener suppliers
Responsible for creation & revision of Standard Components
Support pre-production builds of next-gen programs with tool and programming guidance
