Job Description

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Technical Lead with a strong background in electrical engineering to join their innovative and fast-growing engineering team. This role involves providing technical leadership in embedded and power electronics design, contributing to critical projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and mentorship within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • 7+ years of highly successful embedded systems experience
  • Understanding of digital circuits and the interaction between firmware and electronics
  • Ability to realize component level design
  • Exceptional root cause analysis and debugging skills
  • Project and resource management experience
  • Practical knowledge in analog/digital system tradeoffs and design
  • Familiarity with using schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and industry best practices
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgment and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international)

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong technical leadership related to embedded and power electronics design
  • Roadmap adoption of critical technologies into products
  • Directly contribute to projects critical to the organization’s success
  • Maintain broad understanding of entire systems and architectures
  • Manage business unit specific hardware and firmware features, libraries, and reference designs
  • Assist project teams in root cause analysis and response plan development
  • Coordinate with other technical leads on critical technical issues
  • Effectively communicate across the organization to technical and non-technical team members
  • Review and provide feedback on formal and informal hardware and firmware design reviews
  • Lead company-wide process improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and provide technical training for junior engineers
  • Maintain, communicate, and enforce consistent design best practices
  • Act as a point of contact and technical representative for the Business Unit
