Security Assurance Engineer II, Kuiper Security

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Security Engineer position focuses on driving new innovation and successful security outcomes for Kuiper’s evolving needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years of any combination of threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
• Ability to engage autonomously with product and system owners to resolve ambiguous security problems
• Ability to weigh security and business risk trade-offs when identifying solutions

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to develop new features and mechanisms with an eye on security
• Influence decision-makers and stakeholders throughout the organization on multiple teams to achieve a consistently high security bar
• Assess and contextualize security risk and provide mitigations across Kuiper's technology, services, and applications
• Ensure that detected security issues are treated with a level of urgency that reflects their true risk
• Develop, interpret, and implement security policies and procedures
• Provide guidance to the AWS community on supply chain security practices
• Drive best security practices through the Kuiper supply chain by developing and implementing SCRM policies, procedures, and performance of hands-on supply chain security activities
• Directly participate in setting a vision and objectives for your team's work in alignment with business and regulatory needs
