Job Description

Amazon is looking for a Sr. Principal Applied Scientist to help build industry-leading conversational systems and Generative AI technologies for Alexa and Echo devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in state-of-the-art machine learning and statistical modeling techniques
• Deep knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), ML techniques, and algorithms development
• Experience leading large-scale projects
• Experience in building high-performance, scalable distributed systems
• Experience building customer and developer facing products and services
• Knowledge and experience with web-scale services, distributed systems, and online learning systems
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills

Responsibilities

• Drive Alexa-wide system architecture and design
• Serve as a technical lead on cross-team projects
• Build and deploy scalable Multi-modal understanding & generation services
• Push the boundaries of machine intelligence for conversational scenarios
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of applied scientists and engineers
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
• Stay at the forefront of AI research and incorporate cutting-edge advancements
• Ensure responsible AI practices are embedded in development
