Sr. Security Engineer, Kuiper Security

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide broadband network connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. The Kuiper Security team ensures the security of the satellite constellation and customer data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years delivering security software in a production environment
• 3+ years experience developing distributed software systems in Java, Rust, GoLang or C/C++
• 3+ years experience in working with cloud-native environments
• Experience with at least one of PKI, HSMs, Encryption, Cryptography, Key Management, SecureBoot, or Secure Device Provisioning

Responsibilities

• Establishing product-specific security bar, threat models & defense priorities
• Identifying design & implementation defects
• Collaborating with business leaders to define security priorities
• Supporting product leaders by providing security direction
• Guiding teams towards secure product outcomes
• Providing strategic direction to address vulnerabilities and fortify products
• Advocating for the creation & deployment of new testing tools and detection mechanisms
