Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, IREO

Job Description

Amazon is seeking experienced individuals to support and engineer the next generation of compute and storage platforms for their Infrastructure Reliability Engineering Organization. The role involves maintaining high standards for infrastructure and systems reliability while supporting the Intelligence Community's mission.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant certifications such as A+ or Network+
• Current active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
• 5+ years of administrative experience with Linux or cloud platform environments
• Experience with AWS CLI and/or AWS Console
• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, etc.
• Prefer database familiarity with MySQL and Dynamo DB, or similar engines
• Prefer scripting experience with Python, Ruby, and/or Bash
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and device familiarity

Responsibilities

• Support software services before they go live in Amazon Dedicated Clouds
• Maintain software services once live by measuring and monitoring availability and overall health
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and evolve systems for improved reliability and velocity
• Actively involved in hiring and building the AWS team
• Effective communication with internal customers, coordinating between teams, developers, escalation points
• Periodically support a 24/7 on-call rotation
